Liverpool have brought a 28-man squad to the United States where the Champions League winners will play three matches while Stateside, starting off against Borussia Dortmund at Notre Dame Stadium, Indiana.
From there they will travel to Fenway Park in Boston for a match against Sevilla and then follow that up with Sporting Lisbon at Yankee Stadium in New York.
A number of Liverpool’s top players have been given extended time off following their international duty in the Copa America or the Africa Cup of Nations.
For example, Liverpool have called up 35-year-old Andy Lonergan for the tour, with first-choice keeper Alisson on holiday and young backups injured.
The US tour will give other youngsters a chance to shine, including the likes of Rhian Brewster, who is much liked by Klopp.
Liverpool have started off the pre-season well so far, scoring a 6-0 win over Tranmere Rovers on July 11 followed by a 3-1 win over Bradford on July 14.
