Arsenal’s Mkhitaryan: ‘In England, I no longer felt happy.’

Mkhitaryan’s time in England

Henrikh Mkhitaryan first moved to England in 2016, swapping Borussia Dortmund for Manchester United.

Mkhitaryan had an ok stint in Manchester but nothing too impressive.

In 63 games across all competitions for United, he scored 13 and assisted 11.

Mkhitaryan then moved to Arsenal in January of 2018.

The midfielder racked up a similar record for the Gunners to the one he had at Man United.

In 59 games for the North London outfit, Mkhitaryan scored nine and assisted 13.

Mkhitaryan moves to Roma

Mkhitaryan has now moved to Serie A outfit AS Roma on a season-long loan.

Sky Sports have  claimed that Roma do not have an option to buy Mkhitaryan.

Mkhitaryan has now recently been speaking about his time in England.

The former Dortmund man stated he no longer felt happy and perhaps he did not fit in so well with English football:

“I have to enjoy playing football, no matter the place. In England, I no longer felt happy.

“I got a call from my agent and I wanted to come, because it was a great opportunity for me. I didn’t even have a discussion with my agent about money.

“Maybe I was not fitting so well in English football, so I think a change was good.” As quoted by Sky Sports News.
