Solskjaer issues hands-off warning
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer became Manchester United’s permanent manager earlier this week.
As a result, the newly appointed boss will be no doubt keen for United to keep hold off all of their top stars this summer.
In particular, Solskjaer has spoken out about building his Man United side around Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford.
This will come as a bit of a blow to Real Madrid who are said to be interested in signing the Frenchman this summer.
When speaking about Pogba and Rashford, Solskjaer stated:
“They are vital for our future.
“You have got loads of players who you can build a team around and those are two that you asked me about.”
Solskjaer was then asked if United can allow both Pogba and Rashford to reach the top of their game:
“I would believe so. That’s our aim as a club, to be achieving what we have done in the past. That is the expectations here.
“Of course, we are hoping to build a team strong enough [to be] worthy of the history of the club.” As quoted by the Telegraph.
Man United vs Watford
Solskjaer’s first game as the fulltime Man United manager comes on Saturday vs Watford at Old Trafford.
United have lost their last two games under Solskjaer but they have won 10 of their 13 league games under him.
As a result, Man United are very much in the race for a top four spot, they sit two points behind 4th place Arsenal and three points behind Tottenham.
Watford, on the other hand, sit 8th in the league on 43 points.
